THE DISCOVERY OF THE SOUTH POLE

      Almost 100 years ago, whole world bore witness to a very important discovery on 14th of December in 1911. Norwegian Explorer Ronald Amundson ended a journay regarded as impossible and reached toı the South Pole. Amudsen, after this long journey, achieved to be the first person reaching to the South Pole. His main goal was to achieve to be the first person reaching to the North Pole but Frederic Cook and Robert Pearyi preceded him and reached to the North Pole in 1909. Thus, he turned to South and with a team including 4 people and with 150 dogs, reached his aim.
